How can you support hockey and help find a cure for cancer?

UPDATE!!!
Since the puck dropped back on June 22nd, over 3,400 goals were scored, and over $1.2 million was raised for cancer research.  Morning Bull joined Jickster skating his final shift at the HARBORCenter this morning (July 3rd), as the 40 men in the 11 Day Powerplay officially broke the Guinness Book of World Record longest ice hockey game ever played!  Its not too late to get involved by donating today.

I am excited to be playing in the 11 Day Power Play to help in the fight against cancer. I will literally be playing hockey for 11 straight days with 39 other players to set a world record and bring awareness to our cause! Over the next several months leading to this life-changing event, I will be devoting my time fundraising and sharing this story in an effort to raise money for cancer research. I am using this opportunity to advocate for family and friends affected by cancer. My grandma Jane is a cancer survivor and my grandma Bernice bravely passed away from cancer. As a Special Education Teacher in Montgomery County, North Carolina, I am inspired by the children I work with who overcome challenges everyday. I am dedicating this campaign to inspire my three children, my students and those who hear our monumental story.  Visit my story here: http://www.wfmynews2.com/news/local/nc-teacher-to-help-set-world-hockey-record-raise-money-for-cancer/409479505

By participating, I will help to raise critically-needed funds for cutting-edge cancer research at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.  Although it may be physically grueling, it will be a walk in the park compared to what some people have to endure in their battle against cancer. Cancer is a disease that touches everyone, and I want to make a difference, a big difference.  You can help me do that by supporting my efforts in the 11 Day Power Play.

My personal fundraising goal is $10,000, and I am intent on exceeding it! Please consider making a donation today. No donation is too small, and every dollar adds up to something greater than any one of us could accomplish alone.

As part of our fundraising efforts, our organization is also offering various corporate sponsorships that provide value greatly in excess of the financial contribution. For example, you can sponsor me for $5,000 and my jersey and equipment will be decorated with your company logo for tens of thousands of people to see and hear about on television, radio and social media. As thanks for your generous support, you will also receive my jersey, signed by the players and framed for you to display.

Together, we can help find cancer cures and save lives. Thank you for supporting me!
