Important Information in regards to Exemptions to North Carolina State Face Covering Mandate, Executive Order No. 180
We have received several inquiries in regards to potential exemptions to North Carolina State Executive Order No. 180 mandating face coverings. Our home ice rinks (Greensboro Ice House and Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Annex) have adopted a NO MASK – NO PLAY – NO EXEMPTION POLICY. In accordance with the THA COVID-19 Operating Policies and Procedures all THA Members (players, coaches, officials, volunteers, parents and spectators) shall abide by the rink policies and the North Carolina State mandate.
The Ice House and Annex are taking these precautions to remain open during the pandemic and the policy shall apply to all on-ice activities to include public ice skating, classes-lessons, hourly ice rental and private ice rental. These facilities must abide by this mandate or potentially face financial fines, civil penalties or shutdown of their venue.
The executive order is scheduled to expire at 5:00pm Friday December 11.
The THA fully supports the NO MASK – NO PLAY – NO EXEMPTION POLICY in order for our players to continue to participate in on-ice activities. At the same time we want to remind everyone to remain diligent and adhere to protocols in our efforts to prevent the exposure and transmission of COVID-19.
If you should have any questions please let Sally Anglin, Dean Christy or myself know.
Appreciate your support and understanding as we continue to navigate these unusual times.
