Accounting Coordinator – Job Description

The Accounting Coordinator handles accountant receivables payables for programs of THA from U10 through U18 and Rec League.   This is a compensated position

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Operations Manager / Controller
  • Handles the day to day accounting functions of the organization
  • Oversees all accounts payable processes.
  • Oversees all accounts receivable processes.
  • Assists with the Preparation of monthly, quarterly and end of year reports as necessary
  • Assists with the preparations and development of the annual operating budget
  • Prepares and provides outside accounting staff with data.

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Controller reports directly to the Operations Manager / Controller.

The ideal candidate will possess the following credentials:

  • Financial management / accounting experience;
  • Prior record of organizational responsibility (i.e. youth sports organization or business experience);

At a minimum, the candidate must exhibit the following qualities:

  • Experienced in accounting and finance;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Efficient planner and follow-through;

Time Commitment:

  • Approx. 15 hours per month (four - five hours per week) 12 months per year on average.

Term:

  • Fiscal Year (April 1 – March 31)

Operations Manager / Controller

The Operations Manager / Controller oversees and manages certain operations to include all financial operations for programs of THA from U10 through U18 and Rec League.  This is a compensated position. 

Primary Responsibilities

The THA Controller is responsible for managing and oversight of all aspects of the finances and accounting for the THA.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for establishing the annual operating budget.
  • Oversees the management all accounting systems, data and reports. 
  • Oversees all accounts payable processes.
  • Oversees all accounts receivable processes. 
  • Prepares and provides outside accounting staff with data.
  • Communicates with THA Board of Directors, Board of Directors – Treasurer and the Executive Director
  • Presents reports at THA Board Meetings.
  • Serves on the Program Structure Committee

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Controller reports directly to the Executive Director.

Direct Reports

  • Accounting Coordinator
  • Facilities / Scheduling Coordinator
  • Tournament Coordinator
  • Disciplinary Action Committee
  • Equipment / Apparel Coordinator

The ideal candidate will possess the following credentials:

  • 3-5 year’s financial management experience;
  • Prior record of organizational responsibility (i.e. youth sports organization or business experience);
  • Established, well-respected presence and contacts within the Triad area hockey community.

At a minimum, the candidate must exhibit the following qualities:

  • Experienced in accounting and finance;
  • Demonstrated commitment to sport;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Efficient planner with follow-through;
  • Patience to achieve long term goals.

Time Commitment:

  • Approx. 20 hours per month (five hours per week) 12 months per year on average.

Term:

  • Fiscal Year (April 1 – March 31)

 

Facilities and Scheduling Coordinator

The Accounting Coordinator handles accountant receivables payables for programs of THA from U10 through U18 and Rec League.   

Primary Responsibilities

  • The THA Facilities and Scheduling Coordinator is the primary contact to the Greensboro Ice House and Fairgrounds Annex, in addition, manages and maintains the schedule for all THA programs.
  • Handles all communication with facility representative(s)
  • Establishes the practice and game schedules for the organization’s teams and rec programs.
  • Oversees the scheduling of CHL games, tournaments, exhibition games and practices.
  • Communicates with Hockey Operations Manager as well as head coaches, team managers of respective schedules
  • Works in conjunction with Webmaster and Communication Coordinator in communication of existing game and practice schedules, changes, cancellations (due to inclement weather etc.) etc.  
  • Works closely with Hockey Operations Manager and Finance-Controller with updates, status and reports.
  • Provides updates at THA Committee Meetings as needed

Reporting Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Operations Manager / Controller.

The ideal candidate will possess the following credentials:

  • Prior record of organizational responsibility (i.e. youth sports organization or business experience);
  • Established, well-respected presence and contacts within the Triad area hockey community.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Efficient planner with follow-through;

Time Commitment:

  • Approx. 12 hours per month, 12 months per year

  • Fiscal Year (April 1 – March 31)
