2019 Triad Hockey Alliance
The Triad Hockey Alliance is excited to announce tryouts schedule for the 2019-2020 Season. For the upcoming season will be fielding teams at 18U Midget (2001, 2002 birth years), 16U (2003 ,2004 birth years), 14U (2005, 2006 birth years), 12U (2007, 2008 birth years) and 10U (2009, 2010 birth years).
All players are asked to arrive 1(one) hour prior to their scheduled session. All sessions will begin promptly at their designated times. Goalies will be required to participate in the goalie tryout and with their designated age group.
Each player attending tryouts must complete an ONLINE registration form that provides general family information.
A valid USA Hockey registration confirmation number is required to register for any THA program.
The evaluation process will have several components including skating, skills and scrimmages. The skills component will consist of a series of varied drills designed by the tryout coordinators. These drills are executed by the on-ice staff, and are intended to focus on different fundamental aspects of ice hockey: skating, shooting, passing, defensive play, offensive play and hockey sense. The drills will allow the evaluators to judge the ability of the players accurately. THA will utilize independent evaluators to help with the selection process.
Extension of Offers.
Offers for a position on a designated team will be extended no later than friday May 24th. Please remember that THA requires red helmets, red gloves, and red pants or shells.
Receiving An Offer - What's Next?
Players accepting offers will be required to pay a non-refundable commitment fee of $250 - which will go towards their 2019-2020 fees. Parents/Guardians and Players will have 48 hours to accept the position by making their commitment fee payment online at TriadHockey.org. The acceptance window begins as of the time the email notification is sent or verbal offer is given to the player.
For information, please see the CAHA play up policy here.
What If A Player Misses A Session? (Illness, injury, ETC.)
You should plan on attending all tryout sessions for your level. The more the evaluators see of you, the better your chance of accurate placement. However, it is understood that problems can arise, and if you find yourself in that position, please contact one of the hockey director or tryout coordinators as soon as possible so we are aware of your absence. The selection will be based on whatever information is available from any sessions that were completed and evaluated. You may email them at Info@triadhockey.org
Scheduled is based on the number of registrations and is subject to change. All sessions will start promptly at the designated time. Please arrive no less than 1 hour before your session is scheduled to begin.
