The Greensboro Ice House has revised their COVID-19 Operating Protocol.  These modified protocols take effect on Saturday October 3, 2020.  The THA is fully supportive of guidelines and protocols as outlined and administered by the Greensboro Ice House.  We strongly recommend masks in the locker rooms.

From the Greensboro Ice House:

Beginning this weekend / Saturday October 3, 2020:

  • locker rooms will be back to normal.  No dividers.  We will post signage highly encouraging masks in locker rooms and that people practice distancing.  We will go back to old format where we schedule 1/3 and 2/4.  Showers will be reopened.  We will still offer party rooms as overflow for those concerned about distancing.
  • we will be allowing one parent/spectator per skater.  Parents/spectators are allowed to exchange with another at any time, just check in at the front.  This way parents and/or guardians can observe.  This modification will be for GAMES ONLY (youth and adult).  We will continue to restrict practices to no spectators at this time.
  • for both skaters and spectators, 25 minutes prior to events and 15 minutes to exit after events.
  • we have also been considering what to do in case of inclement weather and have decided that we will be more flexible in this case to allow skaters in a little earlier if necessary.  We don’t think they should stay out in the rain or be forced to sit in their cars during the rain.  This will be up to our managers discretion, but we are instructing them to be flexible and understanding.

If you have questions or need clarification, please let me know.

I thank you for your patience, understanding and support as we have navigated this very challenging time.

Regards,

Chuck Burch
