Leadership/Performance Seminar
The Triad hockey community is proud to host a two-day leadership and performance seminar featuring internationally respected coach, educator, and sports psychologist Marian Jelínek.
This two-day seminar is designed primarily for hockey parents, hockey players, and coaches, with a strong focus on leadership, mental performance, communication, and long-term athletic development. A portion of the seminar will specifically address the role parents play in a player’s youth hockey career, including how parental behavior, communication, and expectations can positively or negatively influence a player’s experience and development.
About the Speaker
Marian Jelínek began his hockey career as a forward in Písek, Czech Republic. He earned a degree in physical education from Charles University in Prague and later completed a Doctorate in Philosophy, specializing in sports psychology.
From 2003–2005, he served as an assistant coach for the Czech National Ice Hockey Team, helping the team capture the 2005 World Championship. At the professional club level, Jelínek coached extensively in the Czech Extraliga, including a championship-winning tenure with HC Sparta Praha and later as head coach in Pilsen.
He is also widely known for his long-term work as the personal coach of Jaromír Jágr, contributing to Jágr’s mental approach and longevity at the highest levels of the game.
Beyond hockey, Jelínek has lectured in sports psychology at Newton University in Prague, authored multiple books on leadership and mental performance, and works with entrepreneurs and executives on leadership, mindset, and performance under pressure.
